How long is my subscription valid?
You can access your course content for 30 days after signing up. You should take your test within this time frame
Which payment methods are used?
We use Stripe in Europe. All major credit cards are accepted. Safe and Secure.
Will I be able to access my course offline?
Yes you certainly can train offline on your tablet or phone (iOS and Android). When online again your progress and certification will be synced with our database. Download the App and one-time login with stcw.academy and your username and password. Every course you signed on for will be available for download to your mobile device.

Are your courses recognized by the authorities
Recognition of STCW courses is dependent upon the flag state that your ship registered with, and any company policy. However, as company policy may vary, the best guidance is to contact the crewing team of your new or current employer as they will be able to give guidance on both their own policies and flag state requirements. Emergency Control Maritime Training BV (dba STCW.online) is a Rotterdam based maritime training institute. Several of its STCW courses are approved by The Netherlands (EU) Shipping Authorities or/and the Liberian Register (if applicable). Both countries are on the IMO Whitelist.
Can I follow the Basic Safety Training STCW (BST) online
STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) requires hands-on activities like swimming and firefighting, so sorry, not available online. You will need to go to a physical training center.
What about security and privacy?
All data is hosted on secure servers. Payments are handled by Stripe Europe. We do not have or store your payment information. Please check out our terms and conditions and our privacy policy.
Is our software safe?
All our software are verified by Microsoft Security Scanner and Valkyrie Comodo and are found safe.
Will there be updates?
If legislation or requirements change we will amend our courses accordingly.
Using a MAC computer
The course starts by opening a new window. From our experience this can be an issue when using a Mac. We strongly recommend using Google Chrome instead of Safari. But, in case you want to proceed with Safari (MAC), please follow these steps to solve the problem.
Safari (Mac)
1. Click Safari and choose Preferences.
2. Go to the Privacy tab.
3. In the Cookies and website data section, uncheck Block all cookies.
Note: Also, make sure that Prevent cross-site tracking is unchecked.
Safari (iOS)
1. On your iPhone or iPad, use these setting
Alternatively you could do the course on a mobile device (smartphone or tablet)If all is right you should have received an email when you signed up with instructions to download and login to the App. The main advantage of using the App is that it also will work when you are offline and syncs when online again.
